Reminders:
1. Scholastic book orders are due Friday! Directions are in your child's folder with a special code if you want to order. There are some great higher level books!
2. September 8 is open house! Come and see what we do in first grade!
3. Food diaries are also in your child's folder. Please have them draw a picture and write a list of what they ate for the next three nights!
4. Spelling homework/tests start next week. More info to follow.
5. Please make sure your child completes the back side of their math sheet every night and places it back in their blue folder. They are to turn this in everyday=)
This week we will be working on mastering sight words, learning how to listen to words and sound them out, and diving more into mastering sounds to make words and sentences. Please have your children review the sight words we have sent home (Fry's 100 list) daily to improve fluency and expression. We will be graphing and counting in math by 2's, 5's, 10's and mastering how to use a hundred's chart. In science, we will continue to learn about our bodies, germs, and making healthy choices too!
Your children are wonderful! We are so blessed to teach them!
