Happy March!!!!!!!

3.  Egypt project due Friday, March 6.  We will do presentations Friday morning!

This week we will be finishing up Egypt!  It has been so much fun to build in the hallway!  We are looking forward to our accreditation visit on March 10! We will be learning about Heiroglyphics, Animal Gods, revisit Pharaohs, and have a small Egypt snack on Friday!  

In reading, we will continue to work on comprehending stories, both fiction and non fiction.  This week we will be reading a realistic fiction about how a seed grows.  Please have your child read this each night and answer the comprehension questions too.  We will be explaining to another friend what we learn!  In writer's workshop, we will continue to work on our chapter books.  YES!!!!!  THAT'S RIGHT!  We are making our OWN CHAPTER BOOKS!!!!! Stay tuned…….

This week we will have regular homework!  We will be reading a story called Winners Never Quit and will be discussing characters, setting, plot, and other comprehension type questions too!  We are learning how to break apart stories and do Beginning, Middle, and End on our own.  In math, we will be reviewing addition facts, doubles, and doubles plus 1.  This week we will continue building Eypt in the hallway!  We will be learning about Pharaohs, Scolls, writing, and will be creating and eating special snacks too!

Tedd Arnold will be here on Wednesday!  Read those Fly Guy books this weekend to get ready!

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!

Hello Parents!  Meghan Campbell will be taking pictures of your children TOMORROW to put together a photo book for the auction!  Please send in solid clothes (white, cream, or any earth tones….solids preferably) and any "lovie" or "stuffed animal/blanket" to get photographed with.  We are excited about this!  Thank you for helping make this happen!

important things:

1.  Feb. 11 is Pajama Day!  Please bring $2 if your child would like to wear PJ's to school!
2.  Feb 11 is also our class party at 2:00.  Be prepared to have some FUN!
3.  Feb. 12 is a half day and the start of winter break!  


A big THANK YOU to all of the parents who have started helping us gather for our Egypt project!  We are really good on all things except Clear packing tape and jewels/sequins for making Egyptian Jewelry!
