Week of Feb 2

Reminders:

1.  On Friday, Feb 6. the first graders will be singing our "Fifty States" song at spirit day and will get to run around the room to be honored.  Starts at 8:05!  Come if you can!

2.  Valentines Day party on Feb. 12 at 2. More details to come!

3.  Feb. 12 is also PJ day!  If your child would like to wear their pjs to school, they can bring $2 to go towards the fifth grade trip!

First grade happenings…..

We are finishing up American Revolution!  We have been studying about American Symbols this week!  Ask your child about these!

Thank you to all of our parents who have started gathering these things!  We are still in the "gathering" stages!  

Egypt supplies!

We are beginning to gather some supplies for our huge Egypt unit!  We will make a large display in our hallway for Wonder Night and for Accreditation.  If you have any of these things lying around the house that you don't need anymore, we will be happy to take them off your hands!

PRINGLES CANS (we need 17 more!)

Gold and yellow streamers (like for birthdays)

Gold Spray paint

epsom salt/ baking soda (got baking soda!)

CONTACT PAPER

black sharpies

toilet paper/paper towel rolls (we have enough of these!  Thank you!)

jewels/ sequins

brown paper bags (We have enough of these! Thank you!)

Week in Review, Week of January 226

A Week in Review…….

Ms. Hughes and Mrs. Bryant thought it would be fun to dress in uniforms since the girls got to dress out of uniform on Wednesday due to a competition they won!

 Country Western Day was a hit!  We have some cute cowgirls and cowboys in first grade!

 The 4th grade showed us how to square dance during spirit day.

 Then, Coach Sam taught us in PE!

 During our reading buddy time with 3rd grade!

It's been cold outside lately!

 We have been making some new goals!

 And learning about the American Revolution!

 The Boston Tea Party was fun to learn about.  Mrs. B threw TEA outside the window!!
