We did some math that was WAY harder than first grade today! We made turkey's and then added all of our feathers up!
We have also learned about the Pilgrims so we did a little writing and creating!

week of Nov. 17
Reminders:
1. Bring in a 10 lb turkey or less on Thursday morning (frozen) for our turkey train for the food bank! Students may wear a turkey hat, or other decorative festive hat for Thanksgiving!
2. Thursday is also our trail wise gardening day and we will be getting down and dirty! Students may wear jeans/ warm pants and St. Peter's hoodies and jackets instead of full uniform. We will ALSO be learning from Snow Bear in the Tipi! What an exciting day it will be!
3. Friday is "dress like a early American" day. Come as you wish your child to be! We will be making hats in class!
4. Friday is also our Potlatch celebration with Kindergarten and the signing of the Peace Treaty! Be on the lookout for special information!

Writer's workshop
This week and last week we have been working on How To books and All About books! Here is what writer's workshop looks like in first grade:
We also took a break this week and wrote what we are thankful for on our thankful tree.
