3.  Please send a small picture of your child's face that we can cut and use in a geography lesson.  If you would like to email us a picture, we can print it here for you.  abryant@stpeters.org  or a hughes@stpeters.org

4.  Spirit Day is every Friday.  Your child may wear his/her spirit shirt with khakis or jeans!  Hooray!

This week:

In reading this week we will be learning about phoneme blending and about initial and final sounds.  We will be learning how to blend more words and hear the beginning of each word so that we are able to write them too.  In Writer's workshop, we will be using pictures to add on to our current stories and learning how to stretch out words to spell them.  We will have dictation where we listen to words said and then sound them out and write them on our paper.

In math, we will be acting out SOME, SOME MORE and will be getting ready to add.  We will manipulate pattern blocks and shapes and also learn how to write addition and subtraction stories on our own.

In science this week we continue to talk about the human body.  We will be making models of our skeletons to take home, will talk about GERMS and do a neat experiment, and have a FOOD DIARY to write in at the end of the week to record what we eat.  To conclude the week, we will be making our very own HEALTHY COMMERCIALS!
