Week of September 16

Reminders:

1- Gardening on Monday!  Wear a St. Peter's shirt and comfy shorts to get dirty as we take over the garden by STORM!

2-  Please send in a picture of your child SOON!  We have a really fun project with GEOGRAPHY that we will be doing this coming week that we need it for!

3- Please remember that homework is to be turned in daily, with the exception of spelling, and that will always be due just on Fridays!

4- Healthy Food logs due!

This week in reading we will be focusing on initial and final sounds with the letters L and B.  We will continue to read our decodable books and learn how to NOT read like a R-O-B-O-T=)  We will be working on knowing our sight words in a snap, and using them to stretch out our words when in writer's workshop .  In writing we will be also zooming in on small moments and learning how to tell a story from our own lives that makes sense.  We will continue to work on handwriting and copying verses in our journal as well.

In math, we will be learning how to make addition and subtraction stories.  We will act it out and use the iPads again to help us!  We will be learning how to count pennies with speed and identifying numbers between 2 numbers.  

This week we will be taking a break from science and will be learning about GEOGRAPHY.  We will be learning about continents, globes, directions, landforms, and will be making a whole neighborhood! We have a lot of hands on fun to do!  If you have a few brown or white paper bags and would like to send those in for a project, we would love it!  We will also be EATING landforms!  Stay tuned...
